Celebrate Valentine’s Day by joining us on February 11th at 6:30PM for a virtual reading of Let’s Go Play, a children’s book about adaptive equipment and inclusion, by Shelby McCarthy! Meet the author, connect with other families, and participate in a live reading by Shelby McCarthy, herself. This event is geared towards children ages 0-5 and their parents. All registered families will receive a signed copy of Let’s Go Play. Registration closes on January 27th.
About the Book: “A children’s book that introduces adaptive equipment, or “tools”, while encouraging imaginative play and inclusion. Equipment included in this story are; wheelchairs, glasses, AAC, standers, feeding tubes, trachs, gait trainers, service dogs, hearing aids, orthoses, and face masks! As the author, I set out to create something that could go to school with my daughter Kennedy, who uses many of these “tools” herself. I wanted her peers to have a loose understanding of why she had these things they may never have seen before, but more importantly, help to spark in their imaginations ways in which Kennedy and these items could be included in imaginative play.”
