Accessible Guided Hike

July 30 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join SBAGNE for an accessible guided hike at Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park in Freeport, ME on Saturday, July 30th from 10AM – 1PM! Our hike will be guided by former board member and outdoor enthusiast, Enock Glidden, who will lead us along wheelchair accessible trails. A light lunch will follow the hike. This event is open to SBAGNE members of all ages. We have two trails we plan on hiking and will be able to adapt the length of our hike as needed. Our trails will be the White Pines Trail (0.5 miles) and the Casco Bay Trail (0.5 miles). When these trails are combined they amount to a roughly 1.25 mile circuit. The White Pines Trail is about 5 feet wide and barrier-free with a gravel base. It ends with views of the osprey nest on Googins Island. Casco Bay Trail follows the coast with views of rocky shoreline and the surrounding islands. You can learn more about these trails HERE and search accessible trails in Maine for yourself HERE. Please note, there is a $4 entry fee per vehicle to enter Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park. If the entry fee is restrictive for you, please reach out to Jean Bertschmann at jbertschmann@sbagreaterne.org so that we can arrange financial support. Please fill out the registration form (link below) so that we can tailor this experience to accommodate all our participants. The deadline to register is July 24th. Contact Laura Browne-Lambert at llambert@sbagreaterne.org with questions or concerns. REGISTER FOR THE ACCESSIBLE GUIDED HIKE HERE.
